Floods India 2019

In 2019, the heavy monsoon rains also led to massive flooding in the state of Andrah Pradesh. The rains ultimately led to the animal shelters in Visakhapatnam being completely flooded and the food supplies – especially hay – being destroyed. The city refused to provide emergency aid for the animal shelters, as all the pumps were used for human protection. We provided unbureaucratic emergency aid in terms of food supplies for the animals and, thanks to our donors, we finally managed to buy three water pumps, which not only helped the animal shelters during this crisis but also gave them more independence and security for the future.
