The Kingdom of Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia. It is located on the Gulf of Thailand between Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. The capital is Phnom Penh in the south of Cambodia. In Cambodia, countless dogs and cats live on the streets and are constantly reproducing. Their lives are characterized by hunger, thirst, disease, accidents and many other problems. In addition, the trade in dog and cat meat continues to flourish in Cambodia. Rabies is also widespread and ensures that the fear of street dogs in particular is omnipresent.

In order to help curb the overpopulation of dogs and cats in a sustainable and animal-friendly way, we entered into a partnership with Animal Rescue Cambodia at the beginning of 2023 and have been supporting the local organization with 100 neuterings per month since February 2023.

All animals are clinically examined, receive treatment against internal and external parasites in addition to castration, are chipped and, if they need further interventions or treatments to improve their health, they are also given these.

Our partner also provides important education and training on the dog/cat meat trade and responsible animal keeping and also provides ongoing training for local vets.
