Stray Animals / Spaying and Neutering in Brazil

Since July 2025, we have been supporting the association ‘Help for Animals and the Environment in Brazil – Salve o Meio-Ambiente Association’ by covering the costs of neutering stray cats. The founder of the association, Hans Haller, has been working with the Hans Haller Foundation since 1992 to help impoverished people in north-eastern Brazil. He quickly realised that nature conservation and animal welfare also play a central role. That is why he founded an association dedicated to these issues. In João Pessoa in the state of Paraiba, he has also been raising awareness of environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation and animal welfare. The latter includes, in particular, the problems of stray cats. With the neutering programme, led by Dr Alick and Dr Lucas, we can make a valuable contribution to alleviating the suffering of cats in this region. The cats are caught by several volunteers, examined, treated and neutered by the vets, and then released back into their home territory. If a cat needs further care, it is placed with a volunteer.

Alleviate current animal suffering and prevent future misery: your donation makes it possible!
